Hi, I'm just finishing up adding the crafting I did over the weekend to my blog. My first piece is a layout inspired by The Dusty Attic September Challenge Sketch (Details can be found here), using Dusty Attic Chipboard. Then the theme for my page came from the Sassy Scrapper September Mood Challenge Board that was a beach/summer theme this month (details can be found here).
I love this pic of my daughter on the beach walking down to the water with her shadow beside her, she looks so nice and peaceful. I really like how the colours turned out on this page even though my husband told me it wasn't his favourite, but I guess not everyone can love my work :)
I covered the chipboard word "peace" and two of the flourishes in gesso then in embossing powder to give a lovely shiny bronze finish. The rest of the chipboard I covered in gesso then coloured with Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Shots and Sprays.
For the background I layered some Prima resist canvas, dollies and strips of paper, then I went to town with gesso, stencils, modeling paste, sprays, color shots, and stamps. To top the page off I used Prima flowers, some shells and lots of pearls and rhinestones.
Here's my close ups

Butterfly Canvas
This is my very first time making a canvas, while I was sick a couple of weeks ago I watched lots of YouTube videos of some very talented scrapbookers making some beautiful works of art on canvas. So I thought I would give it a go myself, I'm pleased with how my first attempt turned out. You can't tell from the photos but because I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays and Tattered Angles Glimmer Mists the canvas turned out really shimmery and sparkly, it's so pretty.
The Chipboard is all from The Dusty Attic, their Monarch Butterfly Chipboard pieces are so beautiful that I made them the main feature of my canvas.
I started by giving the canvas texture with stencils and modeling paste, tissue paper, lace, and tulle. Then I stuck down most of the chipboard and layered on the flowers before I coated the whole thing in a couple of coats of gesso. Next I sprayed and painted the colours on until I got to the colours I liked. I finished off by sticking down the main flower and butterfly plus a few pearls and rhinestones.
