Mixed Media Beach Canvas

Happy Sunday, then end to another week is here and this weekend I managed to squeeze in time to make a canvas just for fun. I took some inspiration from a few to this months current challenges and just let go on this one. I also made a video to show you how I made it.

Inspiration for this came from the current Prima BAP sketch, I loved the three photo concept but decided to make a canvas instead of a layout. Also from the 13Arts challenge #32 Vacation as these pics are of my daughter on the beach from one of our holidays last year, I used lots of 13Arts Mists and Paints. Scrap Around The World had a beautiful mood board this month and I was drawn to the bright turquoise flower and butterfly which is why I chose these colours, also I loved the summery feel of the board which reminded me of the beach and sun. Lastly Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo has a Sea challenge this month which was a great fit with my photos.

Here is my Video

Rustic Elegance for Bella Paperie

Hi everyone. Today I have two projects I made for Bella Paperie with a collection from Carta Bella. The collection is call Rustic Elegance, it's actually a wedding collection but I decided not to do wedding themed projects with it. I had never used Carta Bella papers before and I really enjoyed working with them as they were lovely and thick, I love thick paper when working with mixed media

You & Me

For my background I used stencils, paste, inks and sprays to add some texture and colour, then I fussy cut out some elements from the papers to add. I also added my usual explosion of flowers along with some netting and pearl string

Carta Bella Rustic Elegance Papers:
Grey Stripe
Wood Floral
Labels

Rustic Elegance Jars

For my second project I thought I would make something different and I transformed these jam jars.

I cut up strips of paper and glued them to the jars, then I added some cut out elements along with flowers, ribbon, lace and pearls etc.

Carta Bella Rustic Elegance Papers:
Wood Floral
Chevron
Jars
4x6 Journalling Cards

Untouched Beauty for Scrap FX - with video

Hi there, here is my new layout for Scrap FX. I love the butterflies chipboard pieces so I wanted to make them a feature of this layout, the photo comes from Pinterest which I am now fully addicted to.
The papers used in this layout are from Lemoncraft, this is fast becoming one of my all time fav paper companies - I just LOVE their gorgeous papers.
I also drew inspiration from a couple of challenges for this layout, The Lindy's Stamp Gang Colour challenge where I used the blues and greens with hints of brown. And I also used the mood board from Scraps of Darkness/Elegance, I took from it the idea that there is so much art in nature, that why I used this beautiful butterfly pic as it's natures art.

Here is my start to finish video -please enjoy

My Inspiration and Chevron Tags

Hi there, today is my day on the Scrap FX blog, and I have my projects featuring this months new releases. I have a layout and two tags for you toady.

My Inspiration

This layout shows two pics of my daughter, one at age 3 and one now at age 8. She has grown up so much over the last five years and before I know it she be a teenager (ARGHHHH), hopefully she'll keep that beautiful smile forever. This layout was inspired by the current challenge over at 7 Dots Studio as their theme this month is Time Flies, and yes it certainly does!!!!! I have also based my layout on the current sketch from Scrap Africa.

I mixed some Faber Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel with the Acqua Dolce coloured Gelato and spread this through the Grunge Stencil (2015170) on my background. I used the leftover coloured glitter gel to paint my String of Arrows (2015158) and Heart Pin (2015159) pieces of chipboard. I love the bumpy sparkly finish I got.  On my background I also used the  Words of Wisdom Stencil (2015172) with modeling paste.
I also used the Fig coloured Gelato to colour the Inspiration, Midi (2015152) and Arrow Scribble Frame (2015162) pieces of chipboard, and I added some dots of liquid pearls for a bit of extra bling.

Chevron Love Tags

I loved these new chevron pieces as soon as I saw them, and I knew they would go with the older Chevron Stencil (2012152) perfectly.  I've made two matching tags in different colours.

I used the Chevron stencil with modeling paste and just mixed a little bit coloured spray in to to give the paste a light tint of colour.  For the Chevron Bits (2015145)   and Chevron Banner Words (2015146) I coloured then with embossing powders to match the tag.
